Crysis Remastered was due to be officially unveiled later today, but plans have abruptly changed. You may have seen that the game leaked recently, with the reveal trailer and a batch of screenshots available online. After a deflated reaction from fans, the remaster is getting a delay.
On the game's official Twitter page, the following statement confirms the postponement of both the reveal trailer and the game itself:
No new date has been set, although the wording suggests the delay will be a matter of weeks rather than months. The development team will use the extra time to "get Crysis Remastered up to the PC- and console-breaking standard you've come to expect".

Leaks? Complaints?
Here we go again...
I swear, most modern gamers are the biggest bunch of whiners ever. They're even worse than religious fanatics. They're starting to sound like digital terrorists to me. (Am I allowed to say that here? I apologise in advance it's just becoming so frustrating nowadays that gamers need to be pi**** off about something.)
i think this is the first time i have seen a game delayed because of poor receptions to leaks.
Wow that's probably a first...
@GADG3Tx87 I trace it back to the outcry about Star Wars Battlefront 2 when it released. Granted, those complaints were very much warranted, but the fact it actually resulted in a change being made seems to have 'empowered' people to troll other releases.
@GADG3Tx87 seems like you forgot to count yourself into that list of complaining.... ironic isn't it...
also if you seen those leaked stuff it doesn't make sense not much to it other than simply porting to current gen consoles take mafia 2 remaster very poor performance and visual upgrade..at least here they are listening to issue... they can take time to polish it. it might not matter but at least they are trying..
@jdv95 agreed. Its nice to see but i feel they have over promised on getting it to 'pc and console breaking' standard. I wish them luck
Well I was hoping for a crysis trilogy remaster, now I see they're struggling with re-launching the 1st game, not optimistic for a crysis 4 at this rate
I wish it's designed for ps5, not ps4 and switch
So let me get this straight. They’ve delayed it by (potentially) weeks due to the poor reception of the leaked material. That means if it hadn’t leaked they were fine releasing it as-is, and that it only would have needed a handful of week’s worth of work to make it dramatically better? Says a lot about their quality standards.
@H4ilHydra
I'm very much aware of the irony. But I'm not hitting out at a game with fake outrage as most seem to do nowadays. I'm expressing that those people achieve nothing, are annoyed for no reason and give the industry a bad name. Entitlement and outrage for the sake of it is not ok.
Not to mention the YouTubers these days with their rushed videos before knowing all the facts for quick clicks. The multitude of comments surrounding TLOU2 and more recently videos slamming MTX's in Crash4 before knowing the facts that they supposedly won't be there at all.
This is the culture that YouTube and social media has created. I weep for the 90's that was a much simpler time.
@GADG3Tx87 Calm down, step back, and reflect on your statement.
I'm sure we all get caught up in whatever bubble we live in at times, and you're far from alone in that. But remember this: most modern gamers are level-headed, decent people that likely never engage in any online slanging matches. A vocal minority are not always representive of a silent majority.
I've no doubt what you said was coming from a point of passion for gaming, and perhaps wishing it were better? So I'm not trying to belittle you, just merely hoping for you to not get caught up in the 'skewed internet is reality' mindset that all too many people fall victim to.
This story ... event ... whatever is something that 99% of people who will eventually play this game will have no knowledge of whatsoever.
I don't know if people are justified in their criticism of the leaks, not seen them, but I do know that the world is far bigger and better than a few people doing sh*t on the internet.
@Gr8VngnzN4esAngr
I get what you're saying. It has just become so tiresome that everywhere you go anything gaming related seems to be fueled by hate. Hate for a publisher, hate for a developer, hate for a choice of platform, hate for a game you were never even going to play.
Twitter is by far the worst for it and it's depressing. Especially when you see comments like "I demand this game for this system because I didn't buy that system because they suck!".
Personally my attitude is, you're not entitled to make demands and if you don't like it don't buy it. But most will kick and scream, create fake outrage and 'review bomb' to oblivion until they get their own way.
Is this what we've become?
@Broosh The Mass Effect 3 ending is the first memory I have of an outcry resulting in a change. Fair enough the ending did need to be expanded so we actually knew what happened next, but it seems like this kind of thing snowballed after that.
@GADG3Tx87 I get you, I've been enveloped in that bubble before but getting a bit older and wiser you put things into perspective. Do you know the ages of the people engaging in those activities? They are very likely to be children. I was a child once and I was a moron, such is life.
Most adults who don't like/disagree with something just move on to the next thing. I've still not got over GoT Season 8 along with most of the people I know, but I guarantee that most, if not all, of us never sent abuse or hatred online.
It is a sad state of affairs when you see these 'online wars' kicking off every once in a while, but again, I cannot stress enough how small a minority of people it really is compared to a silent majority of onlookers rolling their eyes.
The numbers never lie, and once you're enlightened by that fact it does wonders for your mental health.
Tbh, I wouldn't hate on the Devs or game, but it did look pretty bland and last gen.
They definitely need to go back to the drawing board if they want this a success.
People were saying it didn't actually look remastered, right? That's a fair statement to make, as long as it's made with respect. It's pretty cool that the devs are reading the room, and realizing they should probably do more if they want the game to sell.
It is a port of a 2007 game (with zero new content) people could have played for $7 before today.
This is really not important enough for me to have "issues" with.
@Shepherd_Tallon Good point! I completed forgot about that.
I wonder how much of this is an issue because it already looked good when it released, meme context and all, but can't be upgraded much due to using Switch as the lowest reference point.
well dosent look much better than pc version and the crazy ffffffffffffffffff price they were asking. you want that price tag you have to put in the effort
Well there goes Xbox big non Halo reveal
@Shepherd_Tallon With Mass Effect, it started even earlier than ME3, I think. After the first game, Bioware's forums exploded with fan requests, from things like adding Garrus as a romance to axing the Mako, and Bioware made the mistake of really getting involved with what "fans want" and let that slowly drive more and more of how ME2 and ME3 played out. That's why they got so fan-service-y after the first one.
Granted, there's merit in customer feedback, but letting fans steer the ship is a big mistake, IMHO!
In this case, with Crysis...yeah, those screenshots look like crap, and apparently that was gonna be reflective of the final product, so good call for them on delaying it.
@GADG3Tx87
Over 100 million PS4 consoles out there. You assume you can't make everyone happy, and that even if you please over 99% of players, you've still upset thousands.
And quite frankly, between cash grabs, staff abuse, etc, there's plenty of reason to whine about something with the games industry.
@GADG3Tx87
Your the one who sounds angry, digital terrorists what planet are you on?
So, to me, it looks like they essentially did very little to the 07 release. In some instances lighting and AA seem worse. I was never worried about this to begin with but i have to wonder exactly what was "remastered" lol
@GADG3Tx87 "Is this what we've become?"
We always have been like that. Now we just have access to so much tools to show it to the world.
Don't worry we are not worse than before but not better either.
@Broosh It's been happening longer than that. Mass Effect 3 had stuff added due to backlash, inFamous 2 changed the look of Cole prior to release. At the end of the day if it's cheap enough for them to change things, and they think they'll earn more from doing so, then why wouldn't they do it?
@GADG3Tx87 After seeing the vitriol towards Last of Us pt. 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 late last year I honestly agree with you.
damnn.. well to be honest, the game in the trailer leaked looked a bit better then my PS3 version : )
the file size of 7gbs suggests not much has been really upgraded graphically wise... I donno, all I know is, I wont be paying more then 15AUD for something "remastered" again
Delayed to add micro transactions to the story.
I have the original Crysis on Steam and I've been playing the trilogy last few weeks, currently half way through 2 now. And the so called Remaster is awful it's had detail taken away it's been saturated so much it's like turning up your brightness on your TV to high.
The game has been a benchmark for new hardware for years it really has held that record for a while, but to me it's like Crytek have stripped a lot out for it to run better they have done something and personally I won't be buying it. It's a remaster I don't think anyone wanted I don't see or recall it been requested around the net that's for sure.
GOOD FOR THEM!!!! Companies make products for consumers. It is in their best interest to listen to their customers and make adjustments to satisfy their clientele.
Crysis and half-life, two of the most overrated games, in history.
@Broosh
I’d say Mass Effect 3 when the ‘outcry’ led to a new ending being released.
@jdv95 Let's hope is not the last one and them stupid people (insert Naughty Dog here) start listening to the good suggestion some of the gamers have!
It looks like it needs to be delayed longer than a few weeks.
Cant polish a turd
Can anyone explain why the leaks were that bad? I can't be bothered to look for it tbh x)
